Tournament Rules

Round Robin

Groups will play Round Robin format. All games will be played until a winner is determined. Teams will be awarded two points for a win and zero points for a loss. Total points will determine the final group seeding. The #1 seed team from each Group advances to the Championship Game. Each team will be allotted one timeout per game.

Tournament Tie Breakers

1. Head to Head

2. Most Wins

3. Fewest Goals Allowed

4. Quickest goal scored

5. Coin Toss

 

If there is a three or four team tie, the tie-breaking procedure will be used until a highest seed is awarded. 

Regulation Ties / Overtime

If the score is tied at the end of regulation time the following will apply after a two minute intermission:

  • Teams defend the same end as the end of regulation.
  • A five-minute sudden-death overtime period will be played 4 on 4.

If the game remains tied after overtime:

  • A 3-man alternating shootout will take place.
    • It will be the Home Team’s choice to shoot first or second.
  • Should the game remain tied after the 3-man shootout, a sudden-death shootout will continue with each team allowed one shooter per round until a winner is determined.
  • No player may shoot twice until every player on the team has shot.
  • Any player in the Penalty Box at the end of overtime will be INELIGIBLE for the Shoot Out.

The championship game ONLY, will not end in a shoot out. If the score is tied at the end of regulation the following will apply after a two minute intermission:

  • A five-minute overtime will be played 4 on 4.

If the game remains tied:

  • 3 on 3 play will commence until there is a winner.
